Valencia CF welcomed Sevilla FC on Sunday, the 16th of April at 9 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 29 of LaLiga.

Valencia CF came quick out of the blocks with Samu Castillejo flashing the ball wide inside the opening minute after collecting a fine delivery from José Luis Gayà. Moments later, Dimitri Foulquier forced Dimitrovic into a save with a wicked effort.

The game opened up halfway through the first half with Valencia CF dictating play in terms of chances and possession looking to probe down the flanks through dangerous crosses into the opposition box and their target man Edinson Cavani who nodded the ball over the crossbar on the half-hour mark.

Valencia CF had further forays into the opposition box in the final minutes of the first half, but the opening period finished goalless with all to play for in the second half.

Valencia CF came out looking to break the deadlock and they came mighty close to doing so following a fine link-up play which was cleared away by Rekik. Inside the first few minutes of the second half.

Valencia CF continued to up the ante going forward from set-pieces but they lacked cutting edge in front of goal.

Sevilla FC stumbled upon the opening goal when Bade made it 0-1 to Sevilla FC completely against the run of play.

The match official did not award a blatant penalty for a handball against Fernando despite going over to the monitor for a VAR review, he stayed with his on-field decision.

Later on, Marcos André was on the receiving end of a penalty call, but the referee waved it away following a VAR check.
